Accessing the library catalog via the library’s homepage can be access through Research Port.

What is Research Port?

Research Port is a portal or gateway which allows you to connect to the library’s resources from any location whether you are on or off campus

To access the library catalog from Research Port follow these steps.

1. Log in to Research Port from the Library’s homepage:  (http://www.umes.edu/fdl)

2. Select the Research Port link or Connect from off campus

What is RefWorks?

RefWorks is an online citation management tool.  This tool allows users to import citation information directly from the library databases.  Another great feature is the ability to grab information right off the web and import the bibliographic information into RefWorks.  RefWorks is available 24/7 whenever and wherever you are.   Using the Write-n-Cite feature of the program empowers students to quickly and correctly create in-text citations and their bibliography.  RefWorks provides the ability to create references in many different formatting styles including MLA, APA, CSE, and hundreds of others.

RefWorks is available to all students, faculty and staff of the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. 

Accessing RefWorks

On-Campus:

To access RefWorks click on the RefWorks logo above or Click Here. Then click the login link to log on.

To log in from on-campus you will need your username and password.

Off-Campus:

To log in from off-campus click on the RefWorks logo above or Click Here. Then click the login link to log on.

You will need your username and password plus you will need the group code that was included in the e-mail sent to you when you registered.
