The library subscribes to over 350 journals titles covering a wide range of disciplines. About 40% of these journal are in print format. All journals are indexed in the library catalog.

Serials / Documents Department
- The Serials / Documents Department is located at the lower level, and it houses journals, magazines, newspapers, newsletters, and, state, federal and international documents.. The Serials Title List, Subject Guide to Serials, and Guide to Documents in the Frederick Douglass Library, are available at the Serials desk to aid patrons in locating material. Most items are cataloged, therefore they can be located using the Online Library Catalog. Please note that journals and magazines are arranged in Library of Congress call number order.
- The Micromedia Room is located in the Serials / Documents Department. Titles on icrofiche and microfilm are housed here. A ScanPro 2000 and six coin-operated reader/printers sre available for reading and reproduction. Six computers are also available in this area.
- All departmental material is non-circulating. A photocopier, scanner and a WEPA printer are available.
